INTRODUCTION
District Pool Section mainly controls all the government vehicles which are placed at the disposal of the District Magistrate, Darjeeling by the Government of West Bengal and also the vehicles hired by the District Magistrate’s Office, Darjeeling to perform the various duties i.e. Election, Disaster Management, Law & Order, any Examination, Inquest and for Protocol duties (VVIPs,VIPs duties). This section controls the vehicles along with the drivers to perform all the duties of the District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Officer (Sadar), Executive Magistrates, Officer-in-charge and other departments of the Collectorate. This section maintains all establishment matters except salary bills of the Drivers who are posted in this section.
STAFFS STRENGTH
The Pool vehicles are being operated by 9 (Nine) permanent drivers out of which one are deputed from the Civil Defense and one from the Land Reforms Department. In addition to the drivers there are 1(One) cleaner and 1 (One) night guard employed on a regular basis. The remaining vehicles are being operated by drivers engaged on daily wage basis.
